Markup Manager

Markup Manager is an module for ‚ÄčZen Cart allowing authorized administrative users to configure sitewide, category, and manufacturer based price markups. Markups can be specified by percentage or as a number and can be either positive or negative. Separate markups can be configured for retail customers, most favored customers, and GSA customers. Weight surcharges can be added by category and / or manufacturer.

How is markup applied?

  • Pricing for a product is entered at cost (using the Zen Cart admin interface or ez-populate)
  • Sitewide price adjustment is calculated (<cost> x <sitewide %> or <cost> + <sitewide amount>)
  • The sitewide price adjustment is added to the base price of the product to create the <initial price>
  • Manufacturer price adjustment is calculated (<initial price> x <mfg %> or <initial price> + <mfg amount>)
  • Category price adjustment is calculated (<initial price> x <mfg %> or <initial price> + <mfg amount>)
  • Weight surcharge is calculated (<product weight> x <weight markup>)
  • The final price is calculated (<initial price> + <mfg adjustment> + <category adjustment> + <weight surcharge>)
  • The GSA IFF rate is applied to the final price for GSA customers

What are the Requirements?

  • Working installation of Zen Cart 1.5.x
  • Secure FTP access to the Zen Cart installation (while you can use plain FTP it is not recommended)
  • An account with "superuser" access Zen Cart's administrative interface
  • Read and agree to the License

Are There Any Known Issues?

  • At this time no admin management page is supplied and the markup must be entered directly in the database
